Brenda Cardenas-Patlan

Originally from Mexico City, Brenda is a tech lead, feminist and an advocate for human rights. Brenda got her Computer Systems Engineering degree from the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City and a Master’s Degree in IT Management from Monterrey Tech in Monterrey, Mexico and has been writing code for 11 years mostly for Java technologies.

Having worked in the IT industry for so long she has experienced one or two of the challenges women face in the area and has witnessed how innovation development is missing from including more women in the IT workforce. She loves helping get more women involved in IT and help them advance in their careers. In her free time, she volunteers as a translator for Public Counsel to help refugees from central America, plays a lot of hide and seek with her two little daughters and catches up with her favorite TV shows.
